siesta

スペイン語のsiesta、昼寝をする、から。ラテン語のsexta hora、6時間目、ローマ時代には日の出に合わせていた6時間目、現在の正午12時が6時間目。正午、noonと比較すると、文字通り9時間目、語源的には9と同じ。
